Hey, y’all!

Nice to meet ya.

My name is Maddie, and I'm a queer photographer and storyteller living in Portland, Oregon.

I picked up my first camera as a teenager and it feels like I’ve had one in hand ever since. I’ve been photographing my favorite people and places for eight years now (!!) and I feel lucky every single day. I get to explore the west coast and beyond with a backpack full of film and memory cards, making really cool stuff with really cool people.

In 2016, I graduated from the Pacific Northwest College of Art with a B.F.A. in Photography, but I’ve learned the most about my craft from practice and collaboration.

I believe in capturing the real and the raw, the honest and the messy. Every beautiful gritty detail that makes us who we are. I’m a documentary photographer with a fine art feel. I’m obsessed with light and shadow. With a background in film photography, I believe in preserving the true mood of each moment with rich, natural hues and true-to-life tones. I let your story determine the look of your photos— because you’re more important than any photographer’s ‘style.’

When I’m not making photographs, I’m probably watching Chopped with my girlfriend, organizing with youth-led climate action group Sunrise Movement PDX, or working as a freelance writer and communications director. I wear a lot of hats, but I love them all.

All people + all bodies are welcome here.

Every love story is worth sharing.

While I’m based in Portland, I am always willing (and thrilled!) to travel. I love a good road trip, and I’m ready for adventure.

My partner and I did a couples lifestyle session at home and we were blown away with our photographs! They felt so much like “us” and we will treasure them for a long time...

Maddie took my senior photos and I adore them. Truly a treasure years later. Not only is she immensely talented she is a kind and wonderful person to work with. Highly recommend and I would definitely book her again!
